Duarte High School
Images Description Credits
In adaptive reuse can a simple juxtaposition of new and old be avoided? How can existing elements be situated within the emerging whole?

The creation of a sense of the whole campus was perhaps the highest priority at the High School. The "ethos of the place" was missing from the collective student consciousness. The original 1960 concrete frame structures on the campus were largely suffering from anonymity.
